Success Stories
Two of the most notable success stories on the PGA Tour are those of Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson through following a specialised golf training program with their respective trainers both turned their games around and become feared competitors once more.
Phil says he has worked extremely hard with his personal trainer and points out that the biggest effect of his training program has been on his full swing. Although he has always been competitive and successful and been number 2 in the world he is far more fitter and stronger than he was. Golf has changed dramatically since Tiger appeared on the tour; his attitude toward his training and his golf has provoked all the young and upcoming players to include golf conditioning in their regimen and in turn has made seasoned tour players like Phil Mickelson include this type of training. Otherwise players like Phil may cease to be competitive and get left behind in the wake of these new, stronger, fitter and conditioned players.
After starting his career strongly in 1996 and having continued success through to 2000, Lee Westwood found himself out of contention in tournaments after the 2000 season. He dropped to about 230 in the world and was at an all time low. He decided to do something about this and really turned his game around when he began a specialised golf conditioning program in 2006. He became fitter and stronger than he ever was and in turn has become compeitive and is winning again on the PGA Tour. His world golf ranking has jumped an incredible amount of places to number 4 in the world. He is back and he is more competitive than ever!
